Make the Marina a destination
Towns and cities all over our region have successfully turned waterfront developments into destinations and revenue generators. The current board has done nothing to resolve the collapsing bulkhead for 9 years and now there is a second breach. Bart Didden will get these desperately needed repairs moving and make our Marina the gem of our Village.
Financial plan for Port Chester that makes sense
The current Village Board has no long-term financial plan for our future, and that makes no sense! Bart Didden supports drafting and implementing a 3-year financial plan to guide Port Chester into the future. We should also explore city status, which could bring in an additional $5 million annually.
A new Police Station
The current police station is in serious disrepair, and that’s a real shame. We should protect those who protect us. Bart Didden will put together a proposal to replace the existing building with a new police station, and will explore ways to supplement the cost with private development.
Affordability for families and keeping taxes in check
Port Chester should be a desirable destination for businesses and young families. That is only possible if people can afford to live in the community. Bart Didden has a proven record of holding the line on taxes, and will work to aggressively grow the tax base through aggressive economic development.
Make village government responsive and accountable
Port Chester residents deserve a Village Board that listens to their concerns and responds with action. As a business owner, Bart Didden will bring a no nonsense approach. As a former trustee, he also knows how to hold village government accountable.
